Diagnosis of Cancer is tough emotional challenge to the patient and family. Many a times  the relative of the patient who collects report insist on hiding the fact from the patient. His argument in this regard is that the patient will emotionally collapse if he knows the diagnosis.
It is been observed that the patient who is counselled well, well educated about the disease and the management options is well prepared mentally and physically to face the problem. No diagnosis should be hidden from the patient.  There are ways in which the patient can be educated about the existence of disease.
This is true that the news should not be dropped like a bombshell. At the same time it is true that whatever amount of efforts relatives put up ..the news never remain the news.
Patient develops more faith in the treatment is willing to cooperate the various modalities.
